If you only need something basic then this could be the radio for you - minimum features at a minimum price!
But for the same price we can currently offer an 80 channel radio with more features??
Unlike all the other radios currently available, this one operates only on the UK 40 channels (all others are 80 channels, consisting of the UK 40 plus European 40).
The controls are simple and all you need - volume, squelch and channel change.
The channel display is a red LED rather than the LCD type used in most radios now. Unfortunately there is no signal meter on the radio.
Channel change is by two push-buttons - one for up and one for down. There is no channel change facility on the microphone, which is a standard dynamic type rather than the more common electret type now used.
Overall the radio works well and if you want something basic and good value, then this could be for you. It is however a step back in terms of design compared to all the other radios currently available.
