Maycom CB Radios

Maycom, Maxcom, Albrecht & other makes...

On this page we list all the other makes of CB radios that we keep in stock.

They are not on this page because they are not as popular as the other makes, it's just that each of these manufacturers only offer the odd 1 or 2 models and so it was not worth giving them a full page each!

Of particular note are the Maycom EM27, which was the very first UK 80 channel radio and still rivals others in performance and popularity today, and the Maxon CM10 which is a new "rugged" basic radio (ideal for the farmer and 4x4?).

NEW 2007 MODEL - STILL ONE OF THE BEST RADIOS AVAILABLE!

This was the first of a new generation of CB radios and was the first 80 channel radio available. It's design and construction are more like an amateur radio than CB. Originally these cost £125!

We are now into something like the Mk.5 version, each version having subtle improvements made. This new version can easily be identified because the backlight on the display is now green rather than orange.

One of our most popular radios - it has just about every feature you could ask for and at a very reasonable price!

New Model

Buy 5 or more for £54.50

A new compact CB from this well know manufacturer, ideal for anyone looking for a robust basic radio. The radio looks more like a "2-way" than a standard CB.

The radio is "multi-standard" and so will operate on all 80 legal channels in the UK, but can also be used in most EU countries and will operate on AM/FM in countries that permit this.

On test we found the radio to work better than many of it's bigger rivals - the receive audio was clear, the squelch was more positive than many current radios, and the transmitted audio was strong. Overall it is probably the best compact radio currently available!

Features include:

  • LED channel display
  • Multi frequency - for use in all EU countries
  • Standard 4 pin mic plug
  • Large simple controls
  • Rugged design
  • Decent size microphone
  • Manual and auto squelch
  • Quantity discounts available

Multi Standard with CTCSS

A brand new multi-standard radio with a unique CTCSS squelch system, allowing you to have your own "private" channels.

A completely new design, looking more like an Amateur radio than a CB, using the latest SMD technology to fit loads of features into a compact radio.

The CTCSS facility allows users of the same type of radio to talk to each other without any external interuption - the radio sits there quiet unless someone on the same channel with the same CTCSS code calls you - effectively giving you a "private" channel.

Initial reports are very favourable - with strong clear audio on transmit and a sensitive receiver. The construction of the radio feels superior to others currently available, even down to the slimmer lightweight microphone cable.

If you are looking for something different, this could be the radio for you!

SOLD OUT - used models sometimes available

A combination of the look of an old style CB (large controls, LED display, signal meter) and new technology (microprocessor based circuit), makes this a popular radio.
The "night watch" backlit display is a unique feature and it is also the only current CB to have a built-in swr meter

The only real disadvantage of this radio is it's size - you need plenty of room if you are using it mobile.
