ast year I asked if anyone knew what had happened to the British CB Confederation, because despite being a member I had heard nothing from them for quite some time. Well this week all was revealed.
In a letter sent out to all their past and present members, the BCBC announced their intention to "wind up". This was due to  no one being willing to take up positions within the BCBC, and because of illness and injury there were now not enough directors to continue to run the BCBC.
Unfortunately it is a sad fact that none of the bodies which have tried to represent CB'ers over the past 20 years have managed to get the support they need from the users, and all have finally folded and disappeared.
I am not going to try to suggest where they have all gone wrong, but I think we will probably find that the BCBC were our last chance to have a national representative body, and whatever you thought of them it is a sad fact that we will now have no body to present proposals to the RA. It was always a thankless task that they undertook, and we all share the blame for their failure - no body can be successful unless they are actively supported by the people they represent.
This year has seen proposals to make the biggest changes to CB since it was introduced in 1981, yet we heard nothing from the BCBC about this. This was the time when we really needed a representative body - but in our hour of need they were too weak to help us.
