n our last newsletter I announced that we were intending to stock a selection of amateur radio equipment and asked anyone interested in receiving details to let us know. Hopefully by now all of those of you who expressed an interest will have received our first list of equipment - I am sorry it took so long to prepare but we were waiting for stock to arrive. With the advent of the novice licence it has never been so easy to get started in the fascinating world of amateur radio - a weekend course and a multiple choice exam is all you need to get going. We now have in stock a good selection of 2m & 70cm mobile and base antennae, HF mobile and base antennae, a good selection of swr meters, ATU's, and various other accessories. Included with this newsletter is our initial list of amateur equipment which we have in stock. I hope some of you will find items of interest on it. If you know anyone else who may like a copy, please pass our details on - we are always grateful for any new customers. In addition to the small selection of items listed there is also a massive range of other equipment which we would be pleased to supply to order - usually delivery is within just a few days. For only £2.95 we have the W & S 2003 Equipment Guide - over 300 pages in full colour, with both specifications and prices. Listing just about everything you could possibly want for not only Amateur radio but much more, this is certainly worth getting as a guide even if you never order anything from it. Why order from us when you could get it direct from the W & S catalogue?? Firstly, if you are within travelling distance you will save the postage costs (they charge £10 on base antennae) and you will also have the chance to examine any item before buying it. Secondly, do you really want to end up with only 2 or 3 big suppliers in the country? Over the past few years most of the smaller Amateur shops have disappeared, forced out of business by the big few. We have many customers come into the shop complaining about the lack of both CB and Amateur shops nowadays. It is only by supporting the independent shops that they will survive. Although on the majority of the items we can not beat the catalogue price, we will certainly match it. It will not cost you any more to order from us, and if we can save you a little we will do. Please give us the opportunity to quote you - with the exception of radios (they really don't want to give us any discount) I hope that we will be able to offer you a competitive price and a first class service.
