opefully you will have received with this newsletter a copy of our 2002 price list, containing what I believe to be the largest selection of CB equipment available anywhere in the UK.
It may look the same as last years, except for the different colour cover, but there are many small differences.
Unfortunately, for the first time ever, it actually lists slightly fewer products than the previous list. This is partly due to some items becoming unobtainable and partly through items being discontinued from stock because they are the same as similar items we stock (except for the name on the packet).
I am pleased to say, that at the time of preparing this list, every item listed was available from stock - there's not many suppliers who could boast that!!
I have checked every single component, and removed from the list the few that were not in stock but have added 26 new components (transistors & IC's) to our already extensive range. I hope to have the KCB Components catalogue updated soon.
The basic layout (and page order) have been kept the same, in the hope that this makes it easier for you to find things, and we have also added more illustrations where I managed to find a little space to squeeze them in.
Every price has been checked, and although the odd price has increased I have actually managed to reduce more prices than are increased. However the vast majority of prices (probably about 98%) remain unchanged for yet another year.
I hope that you find something in the new price list of interest. If you need any extra copies, either for yourself or friends, please ask and we will be pleased to send you one/some.

Unfortunately it looks as if 2002 will see some of the familiar brand names disappearing from CB, with several manufacturers falling from the UK market.
It is becoming very difficult to keep regular stock of Astatic microphones, and by later in 2002 we may not have any in stock.
Sadelta appear to have stopped making their popular range of microphone, including the Echo Master base mic. Stocks are now very limited.
Firestik antennae, although still available in the USA, may no longer be imported into the UK soon. We have limited stocks left, but mostly now loose without any packaging.
K40 have just increased their prices significantly, and with the K40 antenna now priced at £49.50 I think we may soon stop stocking these.
The Lemm range of antennae, including their 3 and 4 element beams, are now no longer available in the UK. I doubt if we will see them again.
However it is not all doom & gloom. All these products tend to have equivalents available under different brand names, so you can usually still buy something which does exactly the same job. For some time there have been too many "alternatives" available, 2002 will see a rationalisation of these.

Our last newsletter, together with this one and the new price list, have been printed directly from disc on a new high quality printer.
We certainly noticed a big increase in the quality of the last newsletter and I hope that you did too. The printing of last years price list was a little disappointing, and I am sure if you compare the new one to that then you will notice a big improvement.
Now about that illustrated catalogue….

n addition to our price list, listing all the CB equipment we stock, we also have information sheets and catalogues on some other selected items.
We have a large 300 page colour catalogue of electronics (something similar to what Tandy used to do). Unfortunately we do have to charge £1.95 for this, but we will refund this with any order over £10 from it.
Our new Disco Catalogue is available free of charge - with a comprehensive range of speakers, amps and lighting effects. Usually available to order within 3 days.
Our PMR 446 listing, has full details of all the PMR446 radios and accessories which we keep in stock. Available free on request, as is our Scanners list - giving more details on the scanners which we stock.
