 elcome to our first newsletter of 2002 and to our 21st year of supplying CB equipment. I hope that you have enjoyed your Christmas and New Year, however you spent it.
Despite many people over the past few years predicting the demise of CB, we enter this new year confident of it's future. Over the last year we have found an increasing number of enquiries from people coming back onto the rig, often after many years absence, and from new customers who have never before used a CB but have now discovered a use for one.
I hope that this trend will continue in 2002 and I can even see an increase in CB use just through "nostalgia" - we have had numerous enquiries that began "years ago I used to have…".
We have even had interest from several TV companies over the past year, ranging from them wanting to mark 20 years of CB, to a "whatever happened to" show. We even supplied a pair of rigs to be used in one of these shows - but I've no idea whether it has been (or will be) shown.
It could even be that the dramatic price rise in mobile phones over the past year (and still currently increasing) will have a positive effect on CB, since the fall in price to "toy" levels certainly helped it's demise.
So whatever you do in 2002 I wish you all the best and hope that at some time during the year we can be of service to you.

his newsletter will be rather brief because it is being sent out with our new 2002 price list. Because of the time preparing that, I am having to prepare this newsletter in less than a week, whereas I usually spend best part of a month on it (I know you can't usually tell !!).
