t is now just over 20 years since we first started selling CB equipment, way back in the early months of 1981.
At that time the use of illegal AM rigs was at a peak (there being no legal alternative). Demonstrations were being held in London to try to convince the government to give us a legal CB system, amid reports that CB would lead to planes falling out the sky and a fall into anarchy if the people were allowed free access to radio.
Well 20 years on, times have changed vastly. Almost everyone has a mobile phone, giving the benefits of radio-communications to everyone (at a price).
But CB is still here, still offering the cheapest form of communication (except shouting), and
we are still here, offering all that's best in CB equipment. Where will we be in another 20 years?

brand new big mobile antenna from this famous manufacturer. They claim this is the "Ultimate Mag Mount Antenna".
This base loaded mag mount antenna is somewhat similar to the Wilson 1000 in style, and is certainly one to stand out in the crowd.
The whip, base and mount are all black, but the coil is transparent allowing you to see the large gold-plated coil. The whip is capped by an extra large "corona tip".
It certainly looks impressive, and knowing Cobra you can be sure it will give performance to match.
The features are:

  • Non corrosive black oxide whip & hardware
  • Heat & fade resistant "Lexan" shell
  • Ultrasonically sealed for water-tightness
  • Broad band frequency range (26-30MHz)
  • Scratch resistant base pad on mag-mount
  • 24ct gold plated coil for super conductivity
  • 8-gauge copper for unsurpassed power handling
  • 6000 Watt power handling
  • Super-Corona tip

Price: £59.50

or the last year no one has been making any new 40 channel rigs, however later in this newsletter are details of a brand new 40 channel rig on the standard UK channels.
In addition we are now able to offer a very limited stock of "graded" basic 40 channel rigs. These are either ex mail order, guarantee returns, or manufacturers seconds etc. All are supplied complete as new in their original boxes, but the sets may have an odd mark on them or other "cosmetic" fault.
They are all fully guaranteed for 6 months.
The radios we currently have are:
Midland 77-095 - a popular basic radio with push button channel change.  Price: £49.50
Pama GX1000 - a compact basic radio similar in size and features to the Midland.  Price: £45.00
Pama GX2000 - a compact mobile set but with more features than above. LED signal strength meter, RF-gain and scanning.  Price: £54.50
It is advisable to check which radios we still have in stock before ordering, because once sold out there are no more available.
