elcome to our first newsletter of the new millennium, I hope that you had a great Christmas and New Year however and wherever you spent them.
It is now almost 20 years since CB became legal in the UK, and about 30 years since the first CB's began to appear here. Over these years there have been big changes in our way of life, and consequently also to the use of CB. I am sure that the new century will see many more changes, with rapidly advancing technology, but I can assure you that we will be still here for many years to come while there remains a demand for CB equipment.
We remain committed to the future of CB in the UK and I hope that we can continue to supply you with the latest equipment for many years to come.
CB has had a somewhat chequered history over the past 20 years, there have been both highs and lows, but I hope that the coming years will see the image of CB improving once again. When I first started selling CB equipment in 1981 I never imagined that in 20 years time not only would CB still have a popular following but that I would be writing to you as the largest retailer of CB equipment in the UK.
What the next 20 years will bring I can only imagine, but if by some remote possibility I am still writing our newsletters to you, then I will be both proud and grateful to you all for your support.

ast month the factory producing many of the Kernow & Midland rigs closed down. Since this was the factory making the only two 40ch (UK) rigs currently available (the Kernow Beta 1100 and Danita 1240) there is going to be a great shortage of 40 channel sets in the near future.
We were able to buy a good quantity of both of these sets before the closure and so we can continue to  offer them for the some time yet, but once these have sold there will be no more !!
Because of the small difference in price between 40ch and 80ch rigs, it may be that no one will make any more 40ch UK rigs ?  We will just have to wait and see.
Also affected are the Kernow Beta 2100, 3100 and 4100 - once these 80ch sets have sold out there will be no more available.

espite the Christmas period being a quiet time for manufacturers, we have managed to find quite a few new products to include in our new price list, and details of some of these follow later in this newsletter.
We have two new fibreglass base antennae, one British and one German (I think this is actually our first German made antenna).
We have several new items from that famous US antenna manufacturer, Wilson.
On a more specialised note we have several new microphones for hand-helds, including throat mics and one for fitting inside a motorbike helmet.
The complete range of Cobra radios are now in stock and proving very popular, including the unique 75-ltd "hide-away" set.
