CB Starter Packages

New to CB and don't know what you need to get going?

Although we don't sell complete "packages" (because everyone's requirements are different) we do get many new customers saying they haven't a clue what they need and asking for a basic complete setup. So below are some options for purchasing a complete setup without having to search through our online shop.

Even if none of these setups are ideal for you, they may give you an idea of what you need so that you can then search through the rest of our online shop to creat your own perfect setup.

If you need any advice please feel free to contact us either by phone or email.

1.  First choose the CB you require.
The CRT S-Mini is a popular basic radio, the tti has a few extra features, and the Midland 248 Excel is a fully featured model.

2.  Next choose the type of antenna.
Here we offer the choice of a small, standard or flexible antenna.

3.  Then choose how you wish to mount the antenna on the vehicle.
Magnetic mounts are easy, drilling a hole is best, gutter mounts are popular on Landrovers.

4.  Any extras.
That was all you need to get going, but here are a few extras you may want to add.

2.  12V or 24V?
The TCB 560 and the CRT 2000 are both dual voltage and will work on either 12V or 24V. The other 2 radios would need a voltage dropper added if there is not already one in the truck.

1.  First choose the CB you require.
The CRT S-Mini is a popular basic radio, the tti has a few extra features, and the Midland 48 is a fully featured model.

2.  Next choose the type of antenna.
Here we offer the choice of a loft antenna (very limited range), small outdoor (approx 6ft), and large outdoor (approx 18ft).
*** The antenna does not include coax, please remember to add it to your order ***

3.  Power Supply.
You will either need to buy a power supply to drop the mains voltage down to 12V, or use a car battery (not recommended).  DO NOT use a train transformer etc.

4.  Any extras.
That was all you need to get going, but here are a few extras you may want to add.

5.  Brackets and coax.
Unfortunately requirements vary greatly depending upon the type of antenna and where you will mount it, so you will have to search for these in our online shop.
