Our Opinion:
This set boasts an impressive range of
features, including frequency display, full scanning facilities,
and a useful LockOut facility in the scanning mode.
Unfortunately we found various niggles with it,
which in our opinion makes it a poor competitor to the Maycom
EM-27, which is now available at a lower price!
| The frequency display is a little
difficult to read - it is not actually as shown in the
above publicity picture, but only has four large digits
and the rest in smaller digits. |
| The set goes back to channel-1 (EU)
whenever the power is removed from it. |
| The microphone supplied is rather cheap
looking and has no channel change facilities despite this
being available from the mic socket. |
| The legal "PR27/97" stamp is not
easily visible - it is stuck on the back of the set !! |
Despite our niggles above the set does work
well. Both the receive and transmit are up to spec and I am sure
the set would work well for you. We just feel that it is poor
value for money when compared to other sets available.
