The set is very similar in size and design to the RadioShack 40 channel hand held.
Many of the features are not actually needed in a hand held, but they all add to it's attraction.
Our only complaint is that the channel read out is from 1-80 rather than in 2 bands of 40. Channels 1-40 are the standard UK channels and 41-80 are the mid band (cept) channels. The one advantage of this is that you can scan all 80 channels at once whereas all other sets limit you to one band of 40 channels at a time.
Performance is very good, with both clear TX modulation and a sensitive receiver.
The battery pack supplied hold 8 AA batteries, and has a charge socket for use with nicads.
The set is very compact and offers all you could need in a hand held and the price is not all that much more than a comparable 40 channel set.
